Cefalù is a medieval town that lies along the seaside, at the base of a mountain that people call “la Rocca.” Once a village almost entirely populated with fishermen, it is now famous thanks to its Norman Cathedral built under the orders of King Roger II. The town has kept its old charm, but if you fancy being adventurous away from the town centre then you can also climb up onto the rock, where you can find a prehistoric structure and a sacred enclosure called The Temple of Diana. Your efforts will be rewarded by a fantastic view from the top of the mountain where you can better appreciate the area’s perfect combination of nature and culture.
